About the Forest Lodge at Dhikala

The largest and most picturesque tourist area in the Corbett Tiger Reserve is Dhikala Forest Lodge, which is made up of mixed woods, riverbeds, sal, and expansive grasslands. The Dhikala zone, where the Ramganga River flows, is home to a diversity of wildlife. Because it serves as a summer home to a sizable population of Asiatic elephants and a high density of wild tigers, Dhikala is also well-liked by photographers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Located in the centre of Corbett National Park, Dhikala Forest Lodge is operated and maintained by the forest department. Dhangadi Gate is the entrance of Dhikala. At this point, you must provide your permissions to the forest guards.

It will take around one hour and fifteen minutes to travel the thirty kilometres between Dhikala Forest Lodge and Dhangadi Gate. The trip from Dhangadi gate to Dhikala itself is full of adventures; you have to cross a dense sal forest and the Ramganga River, which has multiple seasonal rivers. Herds of spotted and barking deer, sambahar, barasinga, elephants, hyenas, foxes, monitor lizards, and even tigers are among the animals you are most likely to see on the way to Dhikala. It was the ideal site for wildlife enthusiasts to stay because of its central location within Corbett National Park.

There are two primary ways to book Dhikala rooms: online and offline. Eight offline rooms are distributed by the Ramnagar booking office, while 17 online accommodations are reserved via the Corbett National Park’s official website. The 17 online rooms are further separated into 12 rooms for Indians and 5 rooms for foreigners.

The Dhikala Forest Lodge's six distinct wings fall into the following categories:

  • Annexes of Dhikala (Number of Rooms: 07)
  • Accommodation (Number of Rooms: 06)
  • Cabins: There are six rooms.
  • The New Forest Rest House has four rooms.
  • Old Range Quarters (04 rooms total)

There are two canteens on the Dhikala Forest Lodge grounds, so there are no issues with the cuisine. One of them, Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam, is operated by Uttarakhand’s tourist department and provides buffet lunches. Food from the alacarte menu is available at another canteen at Dhikala Forest Lodge.
